Introduction to the Special Issue ‘The Balkan Linguistic Area: Beyond the Core’
Abstract
This article introduces the special issue of ZfB, which examines a selection of languages and varieties from the Balkans represented in ABLA. It presents data on Romani, Turkish, Greek, and Corfioto, emphasizing their position beyond the core of the linguistic area under study, along with western peripheral Balkan Slavic varieties.
