The Oriental Manuscripts of the Waldeckian Princely Court Library (Fürstlich Waldeckschen Hofbibliothek) in Arolsen
Abstract
In their article the authors present the oriental manuscripts of the Waldeckian Princely Court Library (Fürstlich Waldeckschen Hofbibliothek), which were seized by soldiers of the Waldeckian contingent during the Russo-Turkish war (1768–1774) while they were looting the Ottoman military camp of Kozluca. The collection comprises – besides an Arabic talisman scroll and a Qurʼān – remains of the correspondence of several Ottoman commanders as well as a deployment sketch. In this article these documents are given with transcriptions and translations.Downloads
